Situated in the North East of San Francisco, North Beach is a one of a kind neighborhood in a one of a kind city. It doesn’t matter if you are living in San Francisco in student housing, as an intern, or as a long term resident of the city, when it comes to affordable housing in San Francisco, I am so glad that I chose to live here and experience such an authentic and vibrant neighborhood. This incredible neighborhood is only walking distance from a number of San Francisco’s most iconic major attractions. It is fun, young, and lively. And best of all, as it is also known as ‘Little Italy’, North Beach features some of the most authentic and delicious Italian Food you will find in San Francisco! Let’s get to it!
Golden Boy Pizza, 542 Green Street
When I was living on Columbus Ave, there was no shortage of delicious food within walking distance. It is a little known fact that San Francisco boasts the most restaurants per person in all the United States, almost double that of New York. And not just one kind of restaurant, but every kind imaginable. Feel like Indian? There’s a curry house around the corner. Italian? Take your pick of the many pizzerias and pasta joints in the area.
Chinatown is literally blocks away and offers dim sum, noodles and tasty dishes at all times of day and night. For the lover of sweets, my personal favorite is Victoria Bakery, located right across the street from Washington Square Park.

Students will be pleased to know that Columbus Street has countless cafés and eateries with outdoor seating, perfect for studying and reading in the sunshine. Here is Café Greco:
Café Greco, 423 Columbus Street
North Beach’s close proximity to Chinatown means that there plentiful Dim Sum restaurants for all occasions. And boy oh boy, are the delicious!

ARTS AND CULTURE
The Bay Area is known for having a vibrant artistic scene, whether it be musical, visual, or literary. North Beach was the home of the famous “Beat Poets” in the 60’s and 70’ – they would be your neighbors had you lived in one of our Columbus street properties back then! Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg were known to have enjoyed the area and it’s nightlife to the fullest, and now, a testament to them survives at City Lights Books on Columbus Street and Broadway, next to Jack Kerouac Alley.

WEATHER AND SCENERY
Surrounded by hills on two sides, North Beach has some of the best weather the city has to offer. While fog often clouds most of the city, you can find yourself enjoying sun in one of the many parks in the area.
North Beach is full of amazing scenery that one can never get sick of. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I will let these speak for themselves! All of these pictures were taken within a ten minute walk of ourproperties 524 Columbus, 371 Columbus, SW Hotel, and 556 Green Residences. If you are looking for short term room rentals or long term housing in San Francisco, come check out our North Beach residences and experience one of the most vibrant, charming, and interesting atmospheres in California!
